Drawn from the Library of Congress archive, this print depicts Abraham Lincoln, half-length portrait, facing left. The Library holds one of the most comprehensive collections of American and international historical prints in the world.

Library of Congress record: Created probably 1858, copied later Original photograph (an ambrotype?) probably by Roderick M. Cole, Peoria, Illinois, or Preston Butler of Springfield, Illinois. The Library's tintype is a copy of the original photo and 'reversed' from the view in the original ambrotype. Case has a decorative diamond surrounded by scrolls. Label on case: 775.
