The finished bill [of 1812] declaring a state of war existing between the United States and Great Britain after it was returned from the Senate to the House as a 'Confidential Bill' and changed to read 'the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and the dependencies thereof'. This bill was thought to have been burned when the British burned the Capitol in 1814, 1/23/39 Glass negatives.
