Caption from caption list: The Department of Agriculture is anxious to encourage the raising and keeping of goats in the United States. The milk is more nurishing [i.e., nourishing] than cows milk and hte animals can be fed on less than two pounds of feed a day. they give about two quarts of milk at each milking. The milk from the goats at the Government farm is sent to the Childrens Hospital in Washington, D.C. Gift; Herbert A. French; 1947.
