Created 1838 Entered 1838 by W. Chambers Southern District of New York. The Library's impression of the print was deposited for copyright on March 23, 1838. Eight days later Chambers copyrighted a second print on the same affair, The New Code of Chivalry or What We Would Have Done" (no. 1838-18). Yet another Chambers print uses the same "Scene in Washington" title and is very similar in format. Title appears as it is written on the item. Weitenkampf
