Library of Congress record: Created 1923(?) Oscar S. Teale (1848-1934) served as both secretary and president of the Society of American Magicians (SAM). He specialized in phenomenal magic" and worked for Houdini as a psychical researcher. When one of these photographs appeared in Houdini's book "A magician among the spirits" it bore the following caption: "Houdini and Mr. Teale demonstrate a method of switching slates over a sitter's head."".
