Created 1854 Signature: Shinpukan Kioroka(?) in seal. Pasted onto mat from a catalog: No. 69-B Adams a North American. Capt. Adams was Commander of the U.S.S. Powhatan one of Admiral Perrys Fleet. If the artist has successfully caught the likeness he was not a notable specimen of manly beauty; or is this the work of an early caricaturist? Large vertical print. Illustrated.
